Antenna digital signal finder Model SL1000

I don't know if anyone bought this and had any better luck than I or my friend did? I purchased the SURELOCK Digital TV Signal Finder some time ago. The first time out it actually worked well enough that I convinced my friend to buy one also. Well, we didn't go camping for awhile and my friend did and he said it never worked for him. I was surprised to hear that so the next time I went camping I was going to show him my Finder worked. It did not work and then we tried his and it didn't work either. We tried everything we could think of but this was just another POS from our friends in CHINA.
This is the SureLock King Controls Model SL1000. So, if anyone out there is considering purchasing this, buyer beware. Save your receipts and go camping and use it so you can return it as soon as you get back. The first time I used it was out front of my house, and it worked great. Next time camping was a few months away and well, it did not work again. It was past the 90 day Camping World return so we both bought a piece of junk and just want to pass it along. Hope that helps someone.
  • I have one on the bedroom TV near the antenna rotator. Convenient and works as advertised.

I’ve had one, and never felt it did much. There are several apps for iPhone that work much better. You might think about getting the Winegard Sensar Pro power supply/booster which has a built in locator service such that you can tune to individual channel numbers.

Sorry to hijack the thread but can you elaborate on checking the RF output of an RV antenna with your iPhone?

I have looked at teh "Sure Lock" and agree with sound guy. Waste of moeny. Plus it is a one trick pony (Signal strength)

The Sendar Pro does that.. but.
1: Scans for strongest signal and displays carrier channel and strength
2: Scanns for all signals and at the press of some buttons displays as above
3: Lets you select a SPECIFIC carrier channel and display the strength of THAT signal.. See note below on carrier channels.
4: Lets you adjust the gain of a 2nd Pre-amp.. Providing more gain than the antenna alone
5: Offers and "Audio feedback" option in case it is mounted where you can not easily see it when adjusting.

    NOTE on carrier channels
In the old analog days if you were watching say Channel 2. that was 56 MHZ. (Vhf Low band. low end).

Today .. Well it can be any channel.. For example channel 2 DETROIT broadcast on Carrier channel 7, and Channel 7 on carrier 41. But channel 12 Flint.. is really 12.

THe channel displayed on the TV no longer need be the same as the Carrier.. THE TV will tell you (if you know how to ask) what the carrier channel is.. So will the Winegard Smart Phone App.

Did you learn to be more cautious about recommendations?
