Any widow(er)s around here?

Anybody here on their own, keeping on truckin', after you lost your spouse and travel partner?
(Not asking for sympathy, please, just some of your reflections about getting back on the horse after you were widowed.

My wife was profoundly disabled and hospitalized from August 2018 til she passed this past March of 2019. I took a trip alone to Europe earlier this month which was a mixed bag. I enjoyed myself about 75% of the time, but at times felt like I was missing a part of me.

I've got a solo rv trip planned come October to the southwest and will stay out as long as I can stand it. I expect I'll get in the groove after a few weeks. A couple of friends are going to meet me for several days here and there, and I reckon I'll meet new folks.

Just curious about any experience and reflections you have about traveling alone after being partnered up for decades.

Not there yet. Unfortunately my husband is terminal. We had 5th wheels for years. I can't drive or back up!we just traded in for a Winnebago navion. Not new but low mileage. We pick it up Thurs. Husband said he'd be a rat b@#$erd not to help me sell the 5ver and find something I was comfortable driving .

Yes. Widow of 4 years. Traveled 2 to 3 weeks at a time first 3 years. Is it the same? No. This year I left FL in January and haven't returned yet. I did all the driving and in later years, did all the hooking up and unhooking. Hubby was not able. I have enjoyed all the scenery I have seen, places I went to. Had a few bumps in the road, but God was looking out for me. My cocker spaniel is a great traveling buddy. Hello Dave,
I would really recommend you join the Elks Club and join the Elks RV club. My Elks RV club in northern calif. has about 60 members. Most are retired and seniors which is composed of married couples, widows and widowers. The RV Group plans RV trips monthly and usually each RV event has about 30 to 40 people. The trips are usually 3 to 5 days but some RVers entend their stay. The park cost is usually about $25 to $30 per night. There are Elks lodges all over the united states. The Elks also publish 4 Travel Guides, each shows you all the Elks in the U.S. It describes all the RV facilites, for each park and what dinners/bar are available at each Lodge.
