Anybody Have A SxS

Been lurking in a few UTV forums , they are just like the chevy-ford-dodge forums.
Mines better and always a story of my cousin's uncle's daughter's husband's best friend owns/had one and BLAH BLAH BLAH lol.

They all seem to have problems with the belt.
Can-Ams you have practically tear the whole tail end off to get at it.
The Polaris first time doing it,,, a couple hours, now they have it down to 15-20 min as long as its just the belt.

Last time I bought a 4 wheeler was in 1988 a Suzuki Quadracer 250 payed a whopping $2600.00 OTD.. that would barely be considered a down payment on one of these UTV's today . Crazy price tag on these things.

The couple of people I know that have them said to get the 1000 DON'T get anything smaller ! One owns the Can-Am Commander 1000 and the other has the Polaris RZR 900 and both say stay away from the other.

Both are close to or at the $20K price
Then just like our RV's now start adding all the extras !!!

I can agree to all of those; direct personal experience with the submarine and hovercraft attempts and watching the locals go through the "I'll take the SxS instead" approach.

I have two Rangers. One for work pulling carts and running for parts and the other just stays at home to push snow and move thing around the yard. I don't need them to go fast, just get me there easily. And they ride good too.

I always tell people, even a Polaris is better than having no side by side at all.

I always wanted a SxS.

But wound up with a pump, auto, and single barrel break action instead. ;)

We've owned a few for work and demo'd a few for play. My advice is to test drive multiple brands and buy what you like plus an extended warranty. Reliability is good across major brands, but the machines aren't indestructible. Our service tech relative works on the brands mentioned thus far plus three others. He says the majority of problems aren't from quality, but rather from lack of maintenance, DIY maintenance gone wrong, and wrecks/misuse.

We have a RZR 1000 4seat and a Kawasaki Teryx. The Teryx is for working around the property and plowing snow. The RZR we use on long rides, sometimes multiple days. I always tell people if you want build quality buy japanese and if you want ride quality buy Polaris. I cant speak for can'd hams

We had an RZR 800 for two years. We bought the 800 because it fit in the bed of my Chevrolet Silverado. We towed the truck with the RZR in the bed behind our DP. We also wanted the 50" for the restricted trails. We just sold it in January. There was not enough good riding around our area, We had to go to Utah to really use it.

Where does he live, most around here say Can Am is much better quality but Polaris is cheaper.

We live in MI, and he rides in MI, VA, WV, TN with other guys from a RZR club I believe.

I am with your brother on this one. In AZ, "every" Can-Am owner I know, and that is quiet a few, had their machines in for repairs last winter at least once and some were in multiple times. While there were one or two Rzrs in for repairs, the numbers were NOT anywhere near as drastic as the Can-Am. However, I don't know where he lives, but around us, a Can-Am is about 20% more expensive than a Polaris.
