I don't know which base plate you have, but the Roadmaster base plate can be reversed, giving you several less inches to make up. It's an undocumented feature. At least it was on mine.
My MH hitch is 27 inches high. My Honda base plate is at 12 inches. Anyone using a 12 inch drop and where did you find it? - bjburkhalterExplorerJayGee
I just sent you a private message. I have one that is like brand new - j-dExplorer IIBe sure any drop/rise you get has a gusset to link the vertical and horizontal sections. Not just welded where they butt together.
You can barely see it but there's a triangle of steel supporting the joint.
That much drop will magnify looseness in the receiver to the point you will likely need a stabilizer bracket to take the play out. Too much play at the ball and the toad will try to bump steer the back of the coach. - Dannyabear1ExplorerThat is a lot of drop and will apply a lot of leverage to your MH hitch
- 352ExplorerI used a 10.
- sch911ExplorerThat's quite a drop. Here is one source.
