Anyone use cat litter in their RV?
Just heard of this. Using a shallow tub with kitty litter in it to get rid of musty smells and humidity while the rv is being stored. I guess if nothing else, it gives the mice a place to poop...

Oh, heck YES. I used to put scented litter on the floormats whenever I had diesel or even gas spill and it got on the soles of my boots.
Because my boat is located in Panama CZ, the humidity is terrible and SCENTED kitty litter removes the musty odors.- Cat litter is not a desiccant. It absorbs moisture on contact with moisture.
- I tried it drunk one time. It gummed up the carburetor. Stick with gas or diesel.
- Charcoal put into mesh type bags, like onion bags and hung in various places will absorb odor and excess moisture. Helps with the damp smell. Used to do this to control odors at a bowling alley I worked at. Worked.
- Go to Tuttle Creek BLM campground near Lone Pine, CA. You’ll track in 10 pounds of “cat litter” over two days....rocks, rocks, rocks. No change in any smells!
- FWIW coffee grinds (new unused not run through the coffee maker) will absorb odors. I rather like the scent.
- I keep a bag in a storage bay to use for cleaning up spills
Changing generator oil, checking hydraulics, etc.. - Well, we have a cat, but he is an outdoor cat only and doesn't like being inside at all. He does a good job of keeping the critters out of the yard and RV though

May want to change the cats diet! We use Scoop Away, never have any odors. Cat eats Precise Holistic Salmon. Box is in living area. We full time.- we did when we had a cat.
