Just learned the Rising Eagle Road fire in central Washington was started by someone towing a trailer, with a flat, that caused sparks

So far it was burned six homes and caused the evacuation of the Sun Mountain Lodge

Reminds me of a fire in Idaho years ago, caused by an RVer who's toad was dragging, and would not stop for people trying to stop them due to the sparking

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

All really need to put tire sensors on their trailer. Doing it is not that big of a deal. I use a dash cam while traveling as well.

Obviously the perp didn't follow Fast Eagle on RV Net...:B

When he reads these posts (as he most certainly will..:R..) - he will begin doing all three!!.:C

How could you make a statement like that or do you have some kowledge of this incident? Seems like the usual RV net hysteria.

more so since all I posted was "trailer"

Turns out a guy I know came with 100 yards of losing his house, what he heard was it was a farmers work trailer. Rumor is the guy knew he had a flat but decided to just drive on home.

If so, I expect he will get billed (and no insurance does not always shield you from willful actions)

No need. Just watch any random episode of "Wildest police chase videos" Just about every episode has some nutcase who had his tires shredded by either the spike strip or just by running over fences and curbs running from the police. The dashcams clearly show sparks flying and grass fires being started all along the chase route.

Well if that is true, then I will truly be offended the next time someone calls me a moron. I just thought it was someone calling me stupid, which is OK, because I often am. But apparently they are calling me a Mormon, and there is no way I want to be associated with that.

Why? Happens a lot.
Over a decade ago some people from Calif were driving north out of Coeurdalene Id, their Toad had a flat and was causing sparks, the fire they started was several miles long.
People were trying to stop them, they ignored them (worried about "why").
The state of Idaho billed them for the fire.
This got written up in Motorhome and Trailer Life, as a cautionary note to RVers

Train also cause fires, the sparking from their brakes as started more then one.
I would like to see a video of how this plays out in a controlled area.

Got some nifty video of air tankers fighting a fire on Anarchist Mtn in Osoyoos. Started by a brake fire on a logging truck. Sometimes c#ยฅp happens.

When the china bomb on my KZ blew, I didn't feel it... I saw the water vapor cloud and chunks flying as the tire fell apart.

Once it was down to the rim, I could hear it more than feel it. I slowed down right away, but drove another half mile or so to come out of a long sweeping curve and looking for a more accessible shoulder (road had no paved shoulder and only a tiny gravel shoulder.)

A 10 wheel system from TireTraker is $429. How much is a low wheel worth compared to a blowout?
