awning rope lights

this is the time of year you can buy rope lights to put under your awning. I saw in an ad they are 18' long and run $8 each. lot cheaper than $40 for the ones in the RV stores.

Just bought four sets at Lowes for $8.95 each. Three red, these went under the fiver, gives a really nice red glow under the fiver at night, and one white for the awning.

Wal~Mart 18 foot rope lights are under $7.00 regular price here in our local W~M. Halmfamily how do you attach them to your awning?

Lowes sells a clear plastic track with double back tape. I attached this under the awning after wiping the area with alcohol. The light strip snaps into it. We'll see how well this works this summer, not sure if tape will hold up, may have to replace with 3M automotive grade tape. Lights under fiver were attached with zip ties to plastic under body.
  • You can buy thesefrom wally-world, they slide into the slots on tour awning tube and I have one rope-light that spans the width then back to my fiver along the arms and I crimped the "s" hooks around the plastic tube to keep the hangers evenly spaced and permanently attached so when I put them up I just grab them and thread them through then Bob's yer' uncle!
  • Going to WallyWorld today to get some...pulled mine out this trip and several of them had burned out sections,,,not bad though, I have had them for years, and also got them at Xmas time many years ago.
