AZ 3 axles or less fuel pumps

If you pump fuel from a pump with the higher tax you can go inside and they will rebate you the tax back.

There are a lot of vegue or misleading signage besides the ones on gas pumps in AZ. Some have been changed like the speed limits is CA. All trucks 55 then it was changed to all truck towing 55 so the guys with a motor home and a toad says im not a truck it goes 70 now the signs say all vehicles towing speed limit 55 and in some other states I have seen sighs that say no trucks in the left lane. What does that mean? You have to look up the actual vehicle code to fig it out

Doesn't matter what the sticker says, private vehicles are not subject to that tax. That includes motorhomes that weigh a lot more than 26,000 lbs.

Arizona, as a result of that confusion is replacing those stickers with better wording.

Update I fuelled again at the same station with my reading glasses on :) the notice has wording that vehicles under 26000lbs declared gross weight are exempt from the threat.

In Arizona private RV's do not pay the commercial tax.

If you have an IFTA sticker you need to use the higher priced pump in AZ. RVs do not fall under IFTA requirements.

Now some states are the opposite, (ie. Indiana) where the lower priced pump is for the commercial vehicles, and your RV needs to fuel at the higher priced rate. The commercial users have to make up the difference when they file their quarterly reports.

The law only applies to commercial vehicles. There is supposed to be a new sticker on the pumps this year stating this.

In Arizona, there is a different tax charged for light duty vehicles than heavies. The sticker is on every pump in the state, in an effort to stop road tractors from using lower tax fuel. The trailer axles are not counted, only the power unit. If you have a retired highway tractor with rear tandems for personal use, and use the local Fry's fuel pumps, you DO run the risk of being offered the opportunity to explain to a judge why you need lower tax fuel. It's a low risk, but it is there.

That isn't always an option when you need to fuel in the middle of a travel day.

Seems like you need to ask the person that posted the sign.
