B&W Companion Hitch w/ 2011 Silverado 2500HD Short Bed 4x4

I am looking at installing a new B&W Turnover ball hitch with the Companion fifth wheel hitch in a 2011 Silverado 2500HD short bed 4x4. Does anyone have this setup? Any issues with this setup? Has anyone installed this setup themselves?
  • New for B&W is a slider. Was reading about it on another portion of forum. I have a long bed with B&W and have used it for 9 years in 2 different trucks. Great hitch and great customer support from B&W.
  • I currently run a turnover ball and B&W companion on my 2007.5 shortbed crew cab. I have not had any issues but I am very mindful where I am and where I am going. If you are thinking you would like a slider, B&W just released a manual sliding Companion that is designed for us short bed folks. If I replace my hitch it will be for the Companion slider but I do not see that happening anytime soon. There are a lot of Companion owners/lovers on here so I am sure you will get more responses. Oh and I did not install, it was included with the truck when I bought it, Companion and all. Very glad it was too. But I think there are some things better left to people who do it for a living so I would have it installed.
  • I have the patriot, its not a slider but after two years of not using my previous slider I decided to go the fixed rout. B&W has some great hitches. I had the local dealer install mine, I figured they do it every day and would not overlook something. Installation was very reasonable, I don't remember how much but if it was high I would remember.
  • I'm installing a Pullrite superglide in my 2014 chevy 3500HD , single rear wheel short bed 4x4 ,don't want to take a chance on hitting the cab had a friend that didn't have it and did $4,000 worth of damage to his truck , jest a word of advise hope it helps .
