B&w Turnover Ball Hitch Question - Update in OP

We just purchased a 2015 Ford F250 that has the B&W turnover ball already installed. We were using a Husky 16K hitch in our former truck. Looking on line I can find a 20K hitch, but that seems to be a bit of overkill for our trailer. Is there a 16K or an 18K B&W hitch that will work with the turnover ball that I'm just not finding?

Went with the B&W 20K Companion Slider.The prior owner had left the gooseneck ball in the down position, and I didn't give it much thought until it came time to get ready to install a new hitch. It was rusted in pretty good, and took about 10 minutes and lots of penetrating oil to get it out.

Installed the hitch ourselves and it was really easy. I got lucky on setting the height of the arms. I picked the middle position (18") and 1" behind the kingpin post as the initial setup and hitched up to the truck. Trailer settled in with less than an inch nose high, over 6" clearance between the truck and the trailer, and the clearance between the tire and wheel well is around 18" on the rear and 19" on the front.

Haven't had a chance to take it on the road yet as I want to put new tires on before our next trip, hopefully in the next few weeks.

search Craigslist. I see them pop up every now and then looking barely used for about $600 and sometimes less.

Check out the Anderson ultimate aluminum. You can get them online for under $800 and they are 24k rated. I'm getting mine tomorrow, so I haven't used it. But basically everyone who has, likes it. There are only a couple people who have had issues with it in all the research I have done. Although a lot of people bash on it who have never used it.

You may be able to find a used Companion 3000, they are rated at 18K. I have been using this since 2011. The new Companion 3500 (20K) came out in 2013.

We ordered our air hitch. It was to be a 15000 lb model. Our dealer did the order during the stores Christmas party. He messed up and the result was a 20K hitch. He teased me saying it is just money. Money well spent I figured.

Nice to have a hitch to take to the next truck of to have the capacity for a bigger RV with the truck you have. B&W = no compromises.

Thanks. I'm not opposed to the 20K, but was hoping that there might be something costing less. At this point in time I don't anticipate needing a 20K but who knows, I might in the future. 🙂

No the B&W 20K Companion is their only hitch to fit the B&W turnover ball. You may be able to find an adapter with rails to go over the ball, that will work with most regular hitches.
