Barker Vent Stick

Question

I had put Barker Vent stick handles on vents in my previous TT so I didn't have to have a ladder to open vents. Sold stick and installed handles with TT and have now ordered for new MH. My Class A has the thermostat control fans on vents and the knob is slightly different. The knobs currently in place have a metal insert to turn gears to open vent. Barker knobs do not have that metal insert, so will not turn gears. Does anyone know if they make a metal insert to fit Barker knobs, or do I have to try to get the wire bails to fit the current knobs?

If the knob has ears like the photo, maybe cut notches in a stick or piece of pvc pipe?
