On my TT I have two batteries that were installed by the dealer when I purchased my RV in 2016. These have always been plugged into power, and I have added distilled water as necessary. Now for the first time when I press the panel LED battery check button, I get 3 out of 4 LED's. These are lead acid batteries, so I don't think it's a question of "exercising" these batteries to get them back to 100%. Any suggestions?thanks for any help.

The lights don't tell you very much useful information. You need a meter.

Check voltage with a meter at battery (without trailer plugged in for at least 2 hours) and compare the reading to the chart below.

You are plugged in and getting 3/4?Check your battery voltage. 13.2+ indicates probably the panel has issues. 12.5 or lower you may need a new converter.

After checking the voltages, consider the batteries are 3 years old, and if they are the typical 12 volt rv/marine batteries placed in many new trailers, they were likely not the best brands or models, and are probably near the end of their lives at 3 years.

Those panels are about as precise as using a rope with knots for measuring.

Looking at our monitor I noticed it was not what it ussually showed. One of the 4 batteries was hot and one cell was dry and stream came out when the cap was removed. 4 new batteries installed. Would be five years old this December. Always good to paid attention is my motto.

You should get a meter if you want to see the actual voltage.

The thing is the voltage on the battery will be the charging voltage for quite a while after all charging has stopped. Could be 8 hours or even more. This surface charge effect means voltage method is at least inconvenient. A battery monitor that measures the energy in amp-hours flowing in and out will indicate the % of full charge all the time. There are battery monitor discussions on this forum ranging from the $30 eBay ones to top of the line.

OP here, after re-setting the circuit breakers yesterday I measured battery voltage today, these measured 13.6v with the power cord plugged into AC, when I unplugged the power cord battery voltage measured 13.3v, so I believe one of the circuit breakers had been tripped.
Visually inspecting the circuit breakers before I reset them yesterday, they all had appeared to be un-tripped, but as I mentioned in a post yesterday, when I reset one, it felt "soft", and did not produce a sharp click when I shut it off, before reset. ??
So I believe I am now all set, the LED battery test now indicates 100%.

No. I think the batteries are just a bit discharged. 12.35 is not terribly low either. Batteries just need a recharge.

When you plug in the RV the voltage should jump up about 1.0 volts and it does not. I believe the converter is shot or you have a battery switch that was turned off (storage mode). Also possible some fuses have opened.

Can you measure the voltage in the fuse panel right as it comes off the converter? May as well post the model number of the converter or electric panel.

...also, if there is any load on the batteries, like having a light on, the panel with go to 3/4 in many cases. As others said, don't rely on the panel, use a meter.

Yesterday I checked the two 40 amp fuses, they checked okay. I looked at all the circuit breakers, these did not seem to be tripped. BUT - when I reset one of the circuit breakers, it felt like it might have been in a tripped position.
Bottom line - this morning the battery check in the LED panel is at 100%. I’ll check the actual battery voltage later today - hopefully the voltage is now ~ 13.2v

Sounds like the converter is no longer charging your batteries. You should see close to 13.2V or possibly more at the batteries when the TT is plugged into shore power. Check the circuit breaker for the converter and the fuses on the converter itself.

I believe that Sams still has a sale on their 6v GC batteries, at about $85 each that's the best bargain out there.
