I 2nd this poster's advice. I towed a 2008 Mercury Mariner hybrid for about 30,000 miles and my current 2012 Ford Fusion hybrid for about 8,000 miles and always turn the key all the way back as far as it will go - - and never have had a problem with a dead battery - - or any other problem with either vehicle related to towing.
