What is your opinion as to the best platform for private sales? CraigsList? RVTrader? Some other one I have not heard of yet?

How to eliminate the low-ballers, tire kickers, scammers, dealers, etc., etc. - on CraigsList (or any other FREE sales medium) - WITHOUT ever answering an "unwanted" phone call - or responding to emails:

Place your add. Use a voice mail (only) phone number for replies.
(*NOT* your home land-line, cell phone number or email).

On your outgoing message, add any further description of your RV (or other item). Indicate you will only return serious calls in the order they were received.

I did same for a TT (at a good price, but not necessarily a "bargain") at about midnight.

On the following day, about 5PM, thought I should check to see how many calls I had.

Yikes! - 95 !! - although some were repeats from folks who didn't quite understand the "program".

Started making a list (of caller's numbers) - but thought I would do as I said, so called the first caller who responded about 2AM (I had posted at midnight).

He arrived at my home with CASH at 9PM, from about 60 miles away.

Placed new outgoing message on voice mail, that the TT had been sold.

Bottom Line: Sold in less than 24 hours. I never had to take early morning, late night,or during lunch or dinner calls..

Sold an aluminum fishing boat the same way - again to the first caller. (He picked up the boat one day later - from about 10 miles away).

BTW - the cost for the "message line" = $8. (per month).

Excellent system - works like a charm.

I did craigslist and RV Trader. 2 emails from craigslist asking is it was still for sale, said it was and never heard another word. About 10 inquiries from RVTrader with 2 walk throughs but no sale. Not sure what people are looking for, but the 1 guy said he wasn't handy and did not want to do any maintenance. I just nodded, thinking to myself "you moron, it's 10 year old trailer for 6K, you want zero maintenance, buy it new for 30K." LOL

I decided to sell a 3 yr old 2013 Keystone in 2015/16, instead of taking a dealers trade-in hit.

I listed it on Craiglist and all it attracted was lowballers, tire kickers, scammers, and a lot of low balling dealers wanting it for on their used lots.

I listed in on both RV Trader and RVT........cost a nice chunk of change. IIRC $75.00 each. Never got a hit. Not one email or call in a month.

I listed it on Ebay as "buy it now". and it sold in 3 days to a Gent in AR, and we're in PA. He paid me extra to haul it half way there and meet him in KY.

Shawn from RVT here - Ralph, sorry to hear that you didn't get any response from your RVT ad, some of our ad packages do come with a 'Money Back Guarantee', you might consider calling our customer support line to find out if you are eligible. 800-677-4484

Craigslist worked for our PUP. 36 hours and I was waving goodbye as it went up the street for the asking price.

I've had great luck using Craislist. Sold my 8 1/2' truck camper in 2 days and a 30'TT in 24 hrs. Reach out into areas away from you. I advertised a car trailer I had in Chicago Craigslist and sold it to a guy in Kansas City who paid me to meet him half way

I have successfully sold on Craigslist and Letitgo. As mentioned above put all the information someone can ask for.

Use all the advertising you can. My 5er sold in one day and had multiple buyers, so my price was likely a little low, but my boat has not had anyone come see it, so it may be to high.

Craigs list can work but you need to have a price that is in line with similar items.

Letitgo sold some of my stuff within a day or so, but you need to install the app and it requires checking for text messages frequently.

I would look at forums for what ever you RV is and post on there. i.e. Airstream forums, Forest River forum, etc. That's how we sold our previous one.

I've had good luck with Craigslist; sold cars, motorcycles, campers, bicycles
many times; It's easy to spot the wackos, low ballers and tire kickers.

Last week I list my van on Thursday - sold on Friday with only a couple of
Nigerian Princes answering my advert.

Never used RVTrader as my TT sold within a few days of being listed on CL;
