Big Foot vs Level Up

Is it worth the money to get the Big Foot leveling system verses the Lipert Level up system. Either system is a lot of money. But is one worth the money verses a cheaper system.....It is going to be a tough sale to convince my wife because I am doing all the work....

I'm not suggesting one is better than the other. But speed is a non factor.
Generally I plug in and hit the auto level button. I then connect water and sewer lines. My point is there are plenty of set up task to do that I don't need to stay there a watch the system work. I just move on to the next set up item while the auto level system does its thing.
  • The Big Foot system is very robust. each jack will raise 17k lbs. Would not be without it.
  • The ground control is electric motor driven and if they are as slow as the front legs on my 5th wheel then I would get old waiting for them to level the rig. So I marked them off my list.....
  • We had no leveling system on our last RV until we went to a Rally in elkhart in 2015, at which time we decided to get the 4pt Ground Control 3.0 installed. I cannot believe how much easier it was to setup and take down after the install and told everyone that asked me if it was worth the price "YES and would never be without again".
That was last year, fast forward to this past May when decided that retirement plan was moved up to end of this year and we purchased a new 40ft Bayhill 340RK Fifth wheel with the 6pt Level Up system. We love the level up system but that's what came installed on the unit. Had it been the Bigfoot system, I'm pretty sure that I would say the same thing.
Point being no matter which one you get we all tend to like or love them when they are working right and second guess our choice when they **** out.

Ground control is electric where as level up and I believe Bigfoot are both hydraulic systems.
  • Our 2005 Georgie Boy Pursuit had Bigfoot levelers and we drove it for 10
years and 62000 miles. Never had a problem. Would highly recommend.
  • If adding to your current rig, look at Equalizer System also, they have both a 4 & 6 point system. We just took our 5er to Elkhart so they could put on the 6 point in thier shop. Was worth it.
  • Our Greyhawk came with factory installed BF levelers. In our two years the only problem we've had was a false alarm that one of the levelers was not completely retracted. Fixed that easily myself by adjusting the limit switch. Having the levelers certainly makes setup much easier that using blocks.
  • I have factory installed BF on my FW. I'd never be without a leveling system but I'm not sure I'd buy another BF. I've had repeated problems with water contamination in the rear fluid tanks. So far none of the manufacture's suggested fixes have worked.
  • We have the Level-Up system on our toy hauler, and it is fantastic. I would not have another RV without it.
