Bike in a box needs a ride to Barra de Navidad, Jalisco

Question

A friend has boxed-up an old 3-speed bicycle and needs to find a way to send it down south. He's a bit north of Waco, Tx and I'm near Manzanillo. If you're looking for a beautiful destination, Barra de Navidad is a great one. You bring the bike, and I'll show you around. We have some property 1.5 miles from the beach with ample room to park. It's also a bird watcher's paradise.

If the bike is Chinese made, wouldn't it be illegal to bring it into Mexico?Just asking, not trying to be snarky..

The bike was made in the 60's and the box will be open for inspection.  I'm new here but not new to travel to and from Mexico.
