It would be a very big book. We keep track of how far we went and what town we ended up in. No site map, no weather, and no facebook. If we ever ended up there again the site we had might be taken and the weather will be different so why put it in a book.

For what purpose? I replaced the panel on the freezer with a dry erase board. Everytime we set up in a new location I write the campground name, address, site number, phone number and county.

If you have to call 911 where do you tell dispatch that you are located? If the weather radio alert goes off, what county are you in? In an emergency you do not want to be trying to figure out the answers to those questions.

No - I just use the internet to get current information. Many times things have changed, businesses close, sites are renumbered , prices and rules change. Work with current info only.

We've got a sort of running log "B.T. Tales" where we note dates, locations and anything else memorable. But it's not anal enough to include any great amount of detail like weather, mpg, route conditions, etc.

We started to, but then came to the realization that we probably won't have enough time to hit the same park twice anyway so it was one more thing to do and one more reminder that life is just too dang short.

After 16 years of full-timing I had a 300-page word processing document of special places we stayed and were likely to return. We usually walked the campground and noted good sites for us. We traveled without reservations and on return trips quite often we got the best site in the place. It also included suggestions made by others on good campgrounds or boondocking spots with GPS coordinates.

We also kept in the glove compartment of our towed Jeep a form I created stating our contact information and our daughters; the planned route we'd be taking over the next month or so (remember - full-timers & traveling constantly), where we planned to stay, if known and our motorhome's description and license number. We figured if one of us was at camp and the other doing errands in town and had an accident, by looking in the glove compartment which emergency personnel would probably do, they could easily locate our RV to notify spouse. Or if both of us was in car and had an accident, they could notify daughters. We also kept daughters updated with our route & any changes in case they needed emergency personnel to find us as many times we were not in cell range. Never had to use it, luckily!
