When camping using the travel trailer(you are already camp site),do you need to detach the tow vehicle from the travel trailer or is it okay not to detach the tow vehicle from the trailer? meaning keep the tow vehicle connected with the weight distribution hitch to the travel trailer

I leave it hitched if my trailer is level and I am only staying a night or two.

If the TT is level, I'd leave it attached. The tires will work out the flat spots in less than a mile.

If it does not put strain on the TV when towing why would it put strain on the TV when sitting. We have left ours hooked up for 3 days with no problem and often do this if we are not using the truck over the weekend.

Agree with all the responses here but don't forget to unplug from the TT to the TV otherwise you will drain your TV battery.

May depend on the CG you are in. Some sites aren't long enough to stay hooked up and you will intrude onto the roadway.

We don't un-hitch if we're only staying the night. We'll pull up on the Lynx levelers if we need to. No problem.

I cannot think of any campsite I have had that allowed a level TT when still connected to my TV. Eh, that part of campsite setup/takedown takes 5min.

I've left mine connected for up to two weeks when we were attending the home football games at Penn State after returning home and before the next game. Same when traveling and just staying the night ... I do put the tongue jack down for a little more stability.

I routinely leave my TV hooked to the TT on almost all short trips. Especially weekends. Never disconnect anything, just roll up, put it in park, emergency brake on the truck and I do put wheel chocks down.

Yep, there is a difference in proper leveling front to back vs side to side.

I didn't state the obvious for obvious reasons ;)
