Fortunately in AZ and Tucson there are no stay at home orders. So far we spent a couple of days doing some non-essential RZR riding, I worked 3 days this week at my non-essential part-time job at the RV dealership, and we're doing a few days of non-essential camping/RZR riding next week. Basically we are not staying home and are trying to live the same life we would without this over-hyped flu bug.
One other thought: What authority does a politician have to force people to stay home? Inspite of this so-called virus emergency we still have Constitutional Rights to move freely about the US and to freely assemble. A governor or mayor does not have the right to restrict our movements. My daughter's family was in California this past week for a vacation and the governor closed the public beaches. Cops were posted to force compliance. Did the governor have the legal authority to do that? Hopefully, someone will challenge the governors actions as being unconstitutional.
I understand that there are perceived measures to fight this virus but the Constitution needs to regarded and We-the-People need to stand up to and fight politicians who insist on taking away our Constitutional Rights. If they feel they can violate our rights during this period they will violate our rights in other situations.
This is not about the constitution This is about saving lives
It maybe hard for you to grasp but people in NYC are dying.
Just like Italy the NYC health system is overwhelmed
THe fear is that unless we control the spread by staying put, other regions will have there system overwhelmed
You call it an over hyped flu but its not just about the flu
Once the hospitals become overwhelmed it becomes hard to be treated for anything else
If you show up at the hospital with an ailment other than the virus there is literally no where to put you No Doctors to treat you in a timely fashion etc. The medical system at NYC hospitals is collapsing. If the virus continues to spread other area health systems will also collapse due to virus cases Meanwhile almost in the back ground people continue to die.
So before you rush to the courts with constitutional arguments keep in mind the court system in MD is closed.
The entire state is closed as much as feasible.
I hope you understand it just no about catching the flu. It's more about spreading the flu Some can get it and have minimal symptoms while some will have devastating symptoms. As it spreads many will require hospitalization. We simply don't have the medical resources to handle the virus and everything else!
This would not be a good time to have a major ailment, because getting treatment maybe hard to do. But be forewarned the shut down is for real there are major areas of the country both rural and urban that are closed
With some people it's always about the Constitution and THEIR rights and freedoms. Like someone else said, and it may have been you and I'm paraphrasing, you can get your freedom back, but not your life. Sounds pretty simple to me, don't know why it's so hard to understand for some.
