Caulk

We have a 3011 jayco greyhawk and are looking for recommendations for a caulk to use in the rv
  • "In" the rv? Inside I guess it really does not matter use whatever works.
  • For external use only:
Horizontal roof surfaces - Dicor self-levelling.
    Vertical surfaces - RV Pro-Flex

In the RV like bathroom or around kitchen sink? Regular caulk you use at home for those areas.

do not caulk around the Flux Capacitor! :)

Inside, like others have said, I used silicone in the bathroom. Outside, Dicor.
  • Inside the RV? Anything you would use in your own house or bathroom. Typically any brand of silicon.

Exterior? I've tried a good number and find I prefer Dicor sefl-leveling as well as their non-leveling formula for vents and windows on the sidewalls.

More unique for my camper are the fender skirts. Nothing would adhere to both the fiberglass wall and the plastic skirt and water would sneak in past the skirt and into the camper. Until I tried 3M windshield urethane. WOW. That stuff is amazing.
  • I used Geocel 2300 on siding seams and around windows and doors. Inside, I used a lot of GE Elastomeric I had on hand but I'd guess any household caulk would work. The sealants with antimicrobial additive may be a good candidate for the bath and around the kitchen sink.
  • Never use silicone anywhere outside but for around the bathroom and kitchen counters, silicone is okay.

Be aware that new silicone will NOT adhere to cured silicone and the old stuff must be completely removed first, and it is NOT an easy job.

Good one. Wonder how many got it.
  • If the Flux capacitor is to close to the fenorck pin and some caulk gets on them you might have a severe discharge of re-ionized flux, it is better to use some chinking.

Sorta gotta go with him on this one, there is now way to know what advancements will be made in caulk between now and 3011 so it would be a be well premature to recommend anything. What do the 3011 rigs look like? What materials are they made out of? Some sort of organic coploymer i'm sure. :B
