Highly doubtful. The first thing to check is the bulb (assuming it is the trailer). Replace the bulb anyhow since sometimes it can be difficult to see what is wrong with it. Next check your plug for a loose/frayed wire. Then start checking the wiring for a pinched wire somewhere. - jspringatorExplorerI'm blowing a left turn signal fuse. Could dirty connections cause this?
- 09KZMXT266ExplorerMy brand new truck's brake controller wouldn't even recognize my trailer. Someone here told me to go to Radio Shack and by DeoxIT. I did, and it fixed my issues. I just scraped all connections with wire brush sprayed DeoxIT contact cleaner and walla!

- Goose2448ExplorerI use a knife blade and scrape the stuff off. Check it every time I hook up to something. And if something is not working, thats the first thing I check.
- RoyBExplorer IIWD40 works for me - I spray just little on the truck side - connect up and wiggle around and hit the road...
