Coach Net Keeping Secrets??

When we purchased the new Bus, the dealer gave us a complementary Coach Net membership for a year, which we appreciated, but didn't use. Since it is about to expire, I was interested in renewing it, and when I received the usual barrage of notices for the renewal, I read them carefully. Unfortunately, none of these were more than Coach Net "How Great I AM" advertising. A statement buried in their documentation says that if there is a discrepancy in the advertising documentation versus their Member Benefit Guide, the benefit guide governs. OK, that's only fair. That's the contract between them and me. So I called and asked for a copy of their Membership Guide to review, AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T SEND IT TO ME UNTIL I BOUGHT THE SERVICE.

HUH!!!! Sounds sort'a like "You gott'a pass it before we tell you what's in it" to me and I don't work that way. Didn't believe it then, and don't believe it now.

The "some" are incorrect..:R

But if you don't care to read the entire story of the Cardiff Giant, you can find out who the "fools" really were by skipping to the last paragraph.

P.T. Barnum Never Did Say, "There's a sucker born every minute"
(David Hannum did)

However, for an ERS, P.T preferred US Rider!..:W

That's why I said SOME. Some people said PT said it and others attributed it to Hannum or others.

On the BBB

My company was approached by the BBB 15 years ago. Back then, you didn't join the BBB, You were invited by the BBB based on the number of or lack of complaints. They even pointed out that there were other services that you could just join and get a good rating but they were not like that.
We joined and had a Gold rating for over ten years but what we got out of it was little aside from being able to put their TM on our cards and a stack of gold certificates. When they changed to a buy your way to the top service, I saw companies I knew were scum getting gold ratings. The last straw was when I had to file a complaint against a roofer that was a member also. All he had to do was respond with we didn't have to do that even though it was in the contract and the BBB closed the complaint and cleaned up his record which is still gold to this day.

After that we didn't renew and after having a gold rating for 10 years were dropped to a silver even though we have never had a complaint. I wont use them as a referral service because like the roofer we got off of their site, you will never know the real number of unresolved complaints. It just isn't what it use to be.

That is the dirty little secret many are unaware of. It is the same with many consumer review sites. We had discussions with one and the innuendo was if you advertise any bad reviews will be place on the bottom.

That is where I'm ahead of you. They renewed my old plan, at the old price. So I don't have to worry about the new version until next January. No special offer or anything. I just called up to inquire about renewing and asked the deal with the new plans. They said "We'll renew your old plan at the old price. So no complaining here.

The answer to that is quite simply noโ€ฆ

Letโ€™s start with the first term they mentionโ€ฆ

The benefits and services offered by your
membership are described in this guide.
Please read this benefit guide to become familiar
with the benefits and services. In the
event there is any inconsistency between the
languages of this guide and the information
provided by an employee, representative, independent
contractor, or sales brochure, the
language in this guide shall govern.

Except you canโ€™t see or read the guide with the governing language until you send and they receive your moneyโ€ฆ and then you get thisโ€ฆ

By accepting your membership card, you
agree to abide by all terms and provisions set
for the in this Benefit Guide.

In their FAQ they sayโ€ฆ

Am I protected while in my campsite?
Yes! You are covered not only on the roadside but also while in your campsite as long as you are in a commercial campground or up to 100 feet off of a maintained road.

But the governing language is just a little differentโ€ฆ

The Emergency Roadside Assistance service is
designed to assist members whose vehicle becomes
disabled as a result of unavoidable circumstances,
which are mechanical in nature.

and

Simple winch out or extraction
services required in order to tow the disabled
vehicle
are covered up to 100 feet off a maintained
road or in a commercial campground
equipped for camping vehicles.

Where in the FAQ do the mention excessive useโ€ฆ

excessive use* of club benefits
or services may result in cancellation or
non-renewal of your membership.
*Excessive use is determined based upon
such considerations as your length of membership,
nature, frequency, volume and dollar
amount of claims.

Where in the FQA do the describe their policy for accidents???

Accidents/Vandalism/Fire
In case of a mechanical disablement due to an
accident, vandalism, or a vehicle specific fire
which are normally covered by motor vehicle insurance,
you must pay the service provider, submit
the bill to your insurance company and then,
if the insurance company refuses payment of the
charge, upon submission of the service provider
invoice and a copy of the insurance letter specifying
the reason for rejecting the claim, NMC
will reimburse for covered roadside services up
to a limit of $500 per incident.
All claims are
processed in 30 days.

The thing is you canโ€™t compare without all the info, even if you agree with itโ€ฆ

Of course all of this is assuming they havenโ€™t changed the language , BUT I canโ€™t get a newer version to knowโ€ฆ

I love a good beat down using their own language. Hard to defend.

I have GSERS. I started with it a couple years ago with the Platinum plan and now have the Platinum +. I have it until the year 2020. I have not had to use it, thankfully. But, I do agree with the simple fact as to why won't they release their membership guide until you send them the money? That's like going to buy your RV and they say, give me your money first and then we will sign the paperwork. To me, that sounds like a red flag.

I agree with JJBIRISH that CN should do the right thing and publish the terms of their contracts.

It would be one thing if can had to mail out a printed brochure to everyone who asked. But in today's online world, it costs NOTHING to publish it online for review.

There really is no excuse for concealing this info.

Thanks JJBIRISH. That's what I wanted a side by side comparison. It's time for me to renew and just wanted some answers. Clear as mud. This is something I buy and hope to not use, so far so good. I'm a lifetime GS member and guess I'll renew GS ERS Platinum since I can't get any info from CN.

I do have Platinum plus I did't know there was a difference.
