Dash cams?

DH wants a dash cam for the RV for Christmas. Anyone have suggestions on what to buy? Thank you!

yep, Mine records in segments, don't know the exact length, but If I need to locate a clip, don't need to fast forward thru the whole recording. just guess at location and go from there.

I mounted mine on the windshield in front of the rear view mirror. Unless someone is looking REAL hard, you can' see it.

Timely post. I've been wanting one for each car and the MH. After hearing of the Ojocam 0801 I researched it pretty extensively today and in comparison to others. It's rated very well. There are two more improved models, the 0803 & 0805.

I ordered the 0803 off Amazon for $129 with the extra storage SD card. If it works well I will order the other two this spring. Possibly adding one to the rear window of the Jeep Cherokee.

Just a question on putting in your MH, are you people mounting it on the window or dash? If on the window where are you locating it? I'm thinking on the dash for the MH is more appropriate since it's already higher than most traffic and would get a better view of license plates vs higher up on the window

I guess that I could have been clearer in my post. What I was trying to say was that everything on your recording is open game for law enforcement if they find it in your car after an accident. And then comes the freedom of information requests.

Does it have a on/off switch? Could probably shut it off if unwanted video would be a possibility. Otherwise if your obeying traffic laws no problem. If your a road rage type of person, probably not the thing they would need or want.

I agree with the point of you post about depending in electronics to much. However the way you worded it suggests that if someone hits a person from the rear they should drive away and would not want the recording. It also seems like your encouraging drinking and driving. I'm sure that's not what you meant and I probably misunderstood you.

I too agree that the new cars have too much on them that distracts a person from watching what they are doing. I hate the climate controls on my 2004 Chevy pickup because they require me to take my eyes off of the road to adjust them.
