Disposing of old 2 cyle mixed gasoline

I have about 1 gallon of old (1 yr) gasoline that is mixed with 2 cycle oil... I have no more items that use this fuel.. How or where do I dispose of it legally? None of my neighbors have 2 stroke engines so no one to give it to..I live in the city so can't burn it, I won't pour it on ground, local hazmat facility won't take it, and fire dept has no clue.. How have you SAFELY disposed of old gasoline?

I have poured oil/gas mix into many gas tanks, vehicle, tractor, it won't harm a thing.

Even at 40:1, you are talking about 3.2 OUNCES of oil diluted to whatever your gas tank holds. The car won't even know it is there.

Haha, that's what I always thought and have done too, but this spring I got rid of a couple gallons of dirtbike premix into one of the mowers. 2-3 gal of premix in a 5 gal tank, topped off with reg gas. I thought the old mower spring an oil leak after running it. It slobbered a big puddle of oil out of what I thought was the valve over or head/cyl gasket!
Thought it was end of the road for the old mower until I realized the oil on the ground was red and smelled just like the Klotz oil that I'm currently using!
On the upside, the exhaust smelled like 2 stroke race gas for a while!
Evidently it was too much oil at once, but my mower engine was well lubed!

Yeah, 50/50 seems a little rich. I used to love the smell of Klotz!

I'm surprised that you local Haz Mat place wont take it. In my area the local landfill takes stuff like that for free. They even go to each town once a year with a trailer and tell people to bring all their old stuff to them.

They will not take used oil but, local service stations that change oil are required; by law; to take that. Have you tried asking a local service station? They may be able to point you in the right direction.

Conventional 2 cycle mix is 50/1. If you introduce that mix ratio into 20 gal tank of a truck, the dilution ratio is 1000/1. There will be no harm to the engine or fuel system.

If you're close to me, bring it by. I have any number of gas tanks you can empty it into.

You may be right but I wouldn’t pour old gasoline much less mixed with any oil into my Tahoe’s gas tank. No way.

But if you did, it would be fine!

we are talking about one (1) gallon of 40 to 1? or whatever gasoline dumped into a 10-20 gallon gas tank. Much ado over nothing.
I'd be more concerned, if it was ethanol containing, with moisture and if it was treated with sea foam or stabil.

I agree you could probably put it a little at a time in your truck / car, although I would not put it in my perfectly running truck. Just me.

Call a boat marina / repair shop. Anyone who might do boat tank repair. I had a boat tank leaking and had to clean out the gas. Local marina let me put it in their bad gas tank for a small fee. I hauled it to them in 5 gallon gas cans. They have someone who comes by once a month and hauls it to a disposal facility.
