do you guys use the stink packs in the toilet ?
The PO left these bags of I assume deodorizer in the bath cabinet, do you guys use these and if so how often ?

We use nothing but water. No stink and no problems. Generous amounts when flushing is all you need. And, of course it stinks in the tank, but if you have odor inside or out, something is not right. Neither you or your neighbors should smell what's in your tank.
