I did have a bear help himself to my ice chest a couple of times. Carried it away from the camp, knocked the lid off and ate the bacon. This was when we had a pop-up and there had never been any reports or problems with bears in the area. We had camped at this campground for years and I always left the ice chest just outside the door of the camper. Didn't ever do that again ... until the following .... ;)

Another time, he simply opened the lid and ate all the nectarines. Left one on the ground that apparently he didn't think was ripe enough. Left all the plums and lettuce, but the next night he came back and ate all the plums. Still have that ice chest with his claw marks in the lid. :B

And before I get jumped for leaving an ice chest outside .... :R I know about bears and being safe. I'd rather him take the plums and nectarines than try to get inside my rig. I had one rip the screen off an open window of my TT and climb in the window. Again, he ate plums and pulled open the only cupboard door with the snacks. Took a large bag of animal crackers (I am NOT kidding!) and left through the same window. Left claw marks on the cupboard door where he ripped it open - and sticky paw prints all over the counter top and table. Our neighbors saw him. He scattered animal cracker throughout the camp and wandered off into the woods with the bag hanging from his mouth. We later found the empty bag behind our site - and his prints beside it. This incident happened in broad open daylight with people around. We had gone down to the creek fishing.

Thatz a great idea ... along those same lines when Dw wants to get rid of worn out piece of furniture, instead of me having to haul it to Goodwill or Salvation Army we just set it out on the sidewalk & put a $40 price tag on it & usely by the next day it's gone. Someone gets some furniture and I don't have to haul it off ...works every time.

I'd like to camp next to you!

We are both pretty outgoing, and like most here we are more than happy to help other campers with things. We love to meet new people, and have often asked others to have a cup of coffee or share our meals. We've met some interesting people throughout our travels, and we have some good friends now.

Sadly, we are also treated badly by a few because of who we are, but we don't dwell on it and move on.

that screen and keyboard provides alot of protection.
There are some that can only see the negative in everything, and they live sad miserable lives because of it, no amount of money even the most expensive RV in the world will never make them truly happy. so in return when someone else is happy or does something that makes them feel good, those others must find bad if not evil in it and condem it, only to bring themselves up on a imaginary pedestal above the ruin they preside over.

would I take one personally? No. I don't know you, I am in a new location travelling, don't know where the drinks came from, or if they were tampered.

If it was in bear country the bears would take it for sure... All of it... As a matter of fact you might get a ticket from the Ranger in Bear country for leaving an ice chest outside unattended. My brother-in-law got a ticket one one time for leaving an Ice Chest outside unattended while we was camping at Loft Mtn on the Blue Ridge. The ticket said report to the office - I'm sure my brother-in-law did just that haha...

I am an early riser and of course the first thing I do is usually fire up my Cuisinart Coffee grinder/maker and have that sitting outside on a table next to the POPUP. I'm sure the sound wakes up a few and then they smell the good ole bean coffee brewing. It usually brings over a couple of folks every now and then with empty coffee cup in hand ...

Campers are all a closed knit group
