Dometic A/C for 33' Travel Trailer

We have a 2014 Dutchmen Kodiak. First time owners. Had it less than a year. (50 amp) It has 15,000 BTU A/C unit in the living room. It's not enough in South Florida and we need another A/C unit in the bedroom. We're being told it's not ducted or wired. Should we have one installed that would require an additional thermostat on the wall or install a non ducted A/C unit? Can anyone recommend a particular 13,500 BTU Dometic A/C unit? Thanks!
  • We have a Dometic Brisk Air II on the roof now so we should be ok adding another one. The trailer is not ducted but it is wired for a second A/C. We're going with a non-ducted unit with the Air Distribution Box (controls on ceiling plate)on the ceiling of the trailer. We prefer to have something installed as opposed to something portable.

The one we have now that came with the trailer (Dometic Brisk Air II 15K BTU ducted) works fine. We just like it super cold in general and especially at night when sleeping. Our A/C at home goes down to 67 degrees at night. :)

Now, we're just trying to decide if we should get another Dometic Brisk Air II 13,500 BTU non-ducted or a Coleman Mach 8 13,500 BTU non-ducted.

We've heard good and bad things about both brands.
  • We have a 32 foot Dutchmen Denali with three slides and our AC works good here in South Florida.

You should ensure that yours is working properly before making such a move.
  • Be sure to measure your height if you add a roof top AC unit. Coleman or Duo Therm 13,500 units are good. I would have one added that has the controls on the ceiling plate.

Or look into a portable AC unit like this type. Easy to install and will keep the bedroom very cool and dry. http://portablconditioners.blogspot.com/2012/11/sanyo-portable-air-conditioners.html

Or some RVs now come equipped with units like this
