Dometic Confort Control Center

Am I the only one who hates this POS? The manual is useless since most of the functions don't work the way they're detailed in it. Why is this better than when there was a simple thermostat that had heat & AC, pick one?
Enough of my rant, my real question; does anyone know if this thing can be replaced by a simple old-school thermostat control or is it wrapped around the heating/cooling system? I would love to replace it and lower my blood pressure at the same time. Any ideas out there? Thanks.
