Don't come to PA

Last night I heard they turned around and listed campgrounds as "Life Sustaining Essential Services"

Recommendation is Call ahead and find out .

Our governor has made some decisions without seeking any advice.Stores like Lowes,Walmart and Tractor Supply can remain open,but a small hair dresser or electrician must close.Which one is more likely to spread germs. He also closed down all interstate rest areas. After many complaints he reopened 13 of 30 but instead of opening the bathrooms put in porta potties. What has more germs than a porta potty? So he then reversed that decision and opened all rest areas and bathrooms. At least now people can wash their hands. All Pa state park campgrounds are closed but day use areas open. Campers can isolate and even use our own bathrooms.The only good thing is gas prices are down but we still have the highest gas tax in the nation.

Umm, perhaps RESIDENT would be what they are getting at?

In other words, you would have to be a RESIDENT of the campground or a Resident of PA and the campground..

I suspect that IF the campground is open year round (few in PA are) and you LIVED in that campground yr round (IE RESIDENT) you would be fine.

However, the campground would not be allowed to accept new campers..

There IS always a loophole somewhere in most laws, I suspect if one was a full timer and just happened to be in the campground and had no other place to go they might be able to ask the campground to get an exception..

Reason, is "ESSENTIAL LIFE SUSTAINING BUSINESS" for the full timers who have no other place to go..

Yes, I work in a business which has been deemed Life sustaining since it is a Healthcare partner with Hospitals, my DW works at a company that provides certain materials used in medicines and DD works in a food store..

We ALL who are still working are making sacrifices and taking chances with our lives to ensure other folks lives are not impacted as bad..

Getting booze, guns, sports equipment, dining in fancy restaurants and RECREATIONAL CAMPING is not ESSENTIAL LIFE SUSTAINING BUSINESS..

Pa state parks are closed for 14 days effective 3/14/20 also if you have camping reservations in April 2020 they are allowing people to transfer or cancel there reservation with no penalty if you want

No I think it means those that are living at a park permanently can remain (versus full-timers who move around). Usually not the kinds of places weekenders gravitate to...

At any rate, most seasonal campgrounds here don't open until early April. So they get a little reprieve for now, but I don't see this lock down ending that soon. Don't expect to see many RVs on the road for awhile. Sad but necessary at this time.

AND people are asking why Gun and ammo stores are still open, and crowded....???? That statement above tells the reason....

Send campers out on the roads? Exactly what we are not supposed to do...travel.

I would ASSUME that any good owner would see that list and place themselves into that category... Since the Sporting Goods heading is so VAST...
