Early Spring Trip to Olympic NP

Wifey got into some kind of trauma while I was driving over snowy steep roads in and out of Yosemite although it's nothing serious but those obvious small slip and slide over icy road.

Planning an spring trip to Olympic NP. I want to avoid heavy snow.

For those who've done the trip, appreciate an advices as to when is the earliest for us to make this trip.

    Now! The Olympics are on the far west coast and totally influencec by the Pacific ocean. This year has been warmer than normal but wet. Lots of wet. The best time of year for coast travels are August to mid October.

    101 on both sides of the park are at or near sea level.
    It seldom snows down low.
    You shouldn't have any problems there but going up to hurricane ridge might be a problem, never can tell early spring storms that snow are rare but they do happen.

    probably rain,rain,wind and more rain. most of the views will be clouded over but i could be wrong the way this winter is going it might be sunny and clear

    Thanks everyone for the invaluable information.

    Rains would not an issue for us unless it's flooded, lol. We used to work on countries and regions with monsoons.

    We are set for 2nd week of April.

    From where to where? West side or east side of the park?

    The Washington Cascades and the Puget Sound are in the way.

    Hurricane ridge is at 5000= feet, as is the Blue Mountain road to the east a bit. Both have good views when clear. It can be clear below in the towns at Sea level to 500', but cloudy over the mountains themselves. Very few places for a vehicle driver to actually see Mt Olympus.

    Sorry for the late response. We and the wifey is avoiding the minuses and polar vortexes with tropical Asian sojourns.

    Downside, free and fast internet are hard to come by.

    Come on up to the Oregon Coast now. It's rainy sometimes. The campsite and RV Parks are way less crowded now.
    We are headed to Neskowin RV Resort Friday (member park) with the Momentum.

    Through the winter, you have to take the bad with the good. Sometimes it's blowing 50+ MPH. Sometimes it's calm.
