Getting old, stiff and inflexible. Are there hiking or work boots, ankle high, that are easy to put on and readily available from retail stores (not online - I have a high instep and need to try on). Velcro closures maybe?
After researching possibilities online, gathering suggestions from several forums and visiting many storefront locations, I found a great work boot that fills the bill. Redwing #1216 6" high boot with a Boa closure system. The boot opens up relatively wide and the Boa closure system only requires you to turn a dial to fasten the lacing system. Super easy! Local outlets are common too.
In my later years serving in the Army my feet had had plenty of damage done. I saw many in the Special Forces community wearing Hi-Tec footwear so I bought a pair. WOW what a difference, they are like tennis shoes with a very durable boot built around them Check this out http://www.hi-tec.com/
