Ecoboost

Mine has a little over 18K miles, 5K towing. Love it! It will get about 22 mpg at 55 mph on the highway in gentle terrain. Interstate at 73-75 mph will drop it to around 18-18.5 mpg. Towing at 60-62 mph, it gets from 8.5-11.5, depending on wind conditions. I don't drive much in the city, but I'm sure lots of jackrabbit starts will suck plenty of gas.

In town I am about 14 MPG. Highway is 20 MPG. Towing my 8k lb trailer is about 10 MPG

I almost bought a 2011 Ecoboost F-150. I really liked it. If you want 4WD, I highly recommend 2012+ for the 36g tank!

I'm at 5,000 miles. Lifetime average of 16.9 with about 10% of that towing. In the last 2k miles, I'm at 19.3. My commute to work is most of the miles, it's through town, but on a 4 lane with infrequent red lights.

I see no reason that higher octane is necessary. Tows like a dream on 87.

Doing about 5,000 miles of towing this summer. My lifetime will drop like a rock. :)

Just read on the Ford Truck Forum,they just past the 500,000th Eco-Boost F-150,that's a lot of trucks with that motor in 3 yrs.,I've heard nothing but good about them.

I've got the heavy payload, 4x4, long bed, supercab, weighs 6000 lbs and can handle 2200 lbs payload. I get anywhere from 18 if I baby it as much as I can, to a more normal 15-16 for mixed highway and side roads. Strictly around town it drops to about 14. Towing 4000 lbs on the flats, 10 @ 72 to 12+ @ 55.

2012, 24k miles, 5k towing, no issues except it's a beast to park.

I've only put 1300 miles on mine so far, but I'm at 18.4 for those miles. Probably a 50/50 mix highway/city overall. Compared to in the 15 mpg range for the same driving (so far, commuting to work and business use, basically) that my '06 Duramax got.

When figuring fuel cost for an Ecoboost, remember that Ford recommends premium gas when towing.

Interesting. I get 17.2 on my cummins diesel since new. It is a 2011. Low is 16 or so around town and 18. To 19 on the highway. I would have thought there would have been a bigger difference.

My average since I bought my 2011 is 18.2 mpg.
I mostly do in town driving and use it to take family trips a couple times a year.y

Of course the joy pedal ;)can drop that number quite quickly if you have too much fun!

Towing MPG is much like any other truck 9-11 mpg.
