Escapees?
I am thinking about joining Yet Another RV Club, Escapees. Those of you who belong, or have belonged, what do you think? Good value? Any thoughts or comments

- We have been members for 10 years along with using the mail service that long. Works for us in that we use it. If not using a membership no matter what it is for, it is a waste of money in my opinion.
- Like any membership it is worth it if you want/need/use their services. Escapees actually owns and operates 9 RV parks. They are reasonably priced and are now available to non-members if you want to check them out. They also have 11 associated coop parks owned and operated by the lease holders which Escapees members can also stay at. You can see reviews of their parks on RV Park Reviews.
Escapees has a discount park program that gives 15% to 50% off nightly stay rates. In my experience almost all of the parks in the Escapees system are also Good Sam parks and the 50% discount parks are Passport America Parks and the restrictions on the discount are the same. Membership includes the magazine, which is a good one. The Escapees mail forwarding service has a good reputation. You must be a member to use it. There is also the CARE center, located in Livingston, TX which provides assistance for members that need it for their daily activities. With the Good Sam Discount, membership is $35 for the first year instead of $70. - I was a member for a year, then chose not to renew. Didn't feel I received value for my dues.
- Join!! We are a great group of people and though not all of us are full timers (anymore!) we all share a common goal of sharing, Karing and finding a place to park! (SKP,... Escapee) I've been a member since around 1990 and the support group, parks (Park Sierra is one of my favorites), PEOPLE and everything about the club is top notch. Inexpensive also when you consider what you actually get.

Absolutely great, we're fulltimers and joined about a year before going FT. We also use the mail service.

Chiefneon - My personal opinion....there is more value there than in Good Sam. Much prefer Escapees rally's and gatherings than the chaos that GS orchestrates at their rallies.
