- wa8yxmExplorer IIII've seen some of those FEMA units... Half --sed park models (Residential flusher for example, no holding tanks, no supply tanks) Still would not be a bad choice for some.
- bgumExplorerSome are actual RVS and some or most are as described. There is the mobile home models also with the AC mounted on the back wall.
- RVs or lowest bid park model trailers?

FEMA has bought both in the past. Standard RV TT's are usually the first purchases after a disaster since they can be pulled from stock for immediate delivery. The more park like models are usually built under contract and take longer to start deliveries. - belairbrianExplorerAgree with Dutch_12078
Way back when, a couple weeks after Katrina, we went looking for a 5th wheel to replace outr travel trailer. Went to alocal dealer near Mongtomery. walked in and said we wanted to look at some units. They told me they only had 5ers as the FEMA guy came buy that morning and bought all 160 travel trailers.
They said we were free to look at whatever was left (5ers). But no one wanted to help us. They were too busy agruing about how to split the profits. - 2112Explorer IIThere were over 100 unused FEMA trailers parked in a field outside of Houston for over a year after Harvey.
Some time later many of them were being sold on Craigslist - ferndaleflyerExplorer IIIIf you had lost everything you would be glad to have anything. Sorry bunch above

Let the shaming commence lol. - bgumExplorerIf you have lost everything a roof over your head and a warm or cool environment looks like a palace. Some of these trailers are better than what they lost.
- wapiticountryExplorerThat part of Kentucky is not McMansion country. It is an impoverished rural area where the people will have very limited ability to recover . It is doubtful any off the displaced residents had flood insurance and the extremely limited economy of the area means those same residents will not have the ability to rebuild their lives. The cold hard truth is the best thing for many would be FEMA assisting them in relocating to areas desperate for employees. But that will never happen because neither the government nor the residents will push for that solution. So instead the cycle of poverty will continue with FEMA trailers being yet another reminder that poverty still exists in one of the richest countries on earth and there really isn’t anything that can change that fact.
