Flat Tire Kits

From what I can see they are plug kits, are they worth carrying? Used to plug tires when I was young working at a gas station, looks like the same thing. Starting to do long trips to more out of the way spots, like SE Utah. We do have Good Sam.

Cheap insurance and, does not take up much space in the RV.

My new TV has run flat tires and no spare. Supposedly, it'll carry you 50 miles at 40 mph (or is that 40 miles at 50 mph?). The downside, of course, is that although it'll go that far on a "flat," the tire is ruined by the experience, and since they cost $300-$400 apiece, I'm not crazy about driving on 'em flat.

I'm sorta thinking, I already carry a compressor to make sure all TT and TV tires are properly inflated, maybe a plug kit would be a good idea as we drag the rig around the middle of nowhere.

Yes, similar to a rivet. Work very well plugging nail and screw punctures.

Well worth the price. ARB has a really good kit you can get through places like 4 Wheel Parts or other online resellers.

I always carry one in my Jeep, but when I get back to town I take the tire to a shop for a more permanent repair.

I carry plugging tools, plugs, and air compressor on every vehicle including my motorcycle. They have seen some use over the years. I wouldn't travel without them.

I carry one. Lots of people will tell you plugs are not the best way to patch a tire. Maybe. But I've been patching my tires this way for years and have never had one fail. Moreover, when you're on the road and finding a shop to do it is not possible, this will get you going again in a very short time.
