And I thought I was the one that had the brother that ruined everything ! Yes his name is Darrel, But my name isn't Larry ! lol

Once the green stuff has been put into a tire the conventional methods will no longer stick ! At least carry a tire , many service trucks can install a tire if ya have one .

I have plugged many tubeless tires on the road.

This is what I've used for many, many years and I use it a permanent fix and have NEVER had a problem until the tire wears thin/out. I also do not buy steel reinforced if at all possible.
I have used this method on lawn mower tires up to 1100x22.5 truck tires.
For safety reasons if I plug a front tire I move it to the rear asap.

I too have used plugs on radial tires without any further problems. I always carry plugs and a compressor with me, and only a blowout or sidewall damage would prevent me from using them. I haven't had a flat fixed at a shop for 30 or 40 years.

Can't repair a hole within 2" of the shoulder that's bad bull dropping as long as it's not ON the shoulder my trusty plugger comes out, although unless I was stranded I don't think I'd use more than 1 plug per hole.

You got an old school shop then that doesn't worry about legal/liability. It's been years wine entire shops were allowed to use plugs.
That said, I've plugged probably 100 tires without issue, unless it's too big of a gash that a couple plugs can't fill.
I still use tire plugs. But there are some flats that they won't work on.
Also had a shop tell me once that they couldn't patch within 2" of sidewall. Went home and put a plug in it. Company truck.

Big thanks for all your replies. NOW..the question is...has anyone call their road assistance and actually have a tire and wheel delivered? Or..in our case..would we most likely get towed to a facility??

The green stuff is called SLIME, I have it one every tire here on the farm and yes it does work.

I've had tires repaired with plugs and had them last the life of the tire. I have never had one fail because of plugs. The shop I usually go to just uses plugs. He says he never had one come back and I believe him I know I've never had a problem with them. Knock on wood.
