Hi. First time poster.
I have a 1995 Fleetwood Prowler Travel Trailer with a side slide out.
Can anyone with a similar model/year give me a schematic or photo of the rear of the switch? Mine is wired wrong...."In" is "out" and vice versa. It is a six blade/lead switch, so I am not sure what else may be misconnected.
When I got the trailer it had some wiring issues at the fuse box, which I have straightened out. Before, the alide was the only thing working off the battery. Now, everything but the slide works. All the way in, if I press the button to move slide in more, I see one of the ceiling lights flash on a bit, as if there is a back surge or short. It was doing that as well before I straightened out the fuse box issues.
The problems with the other wiring turned out to be a completely fried grounding block under the bed, with all the white neutral/ground wires badly melted. That was from a prior owner. I replaced the grounding block and rewired it. Everything works OK now...except the slide.
There had also been one landline 20 amp line melted where it was resting on the ground block. The black/hot wire in the line had melted through and was touching the aluminum grounding block. I have no idea what caused all of that...or if it was a shorted landline that melted all the ground wired...or if the grounds all melted first, heated the block and that melted the landline touching it. Either way, it all works now that I fixed it.
except the slide, which worked before.
Also, all the 12v fuses were good as we're all the 120v breakers. But I do not know if a previous owner replaced any after the meltdown.
Whoever had worked on it had the main 40V 120 breaker in the wrong slot. They also had the 40v main line in misconnected to a 20 amp breaker. Once I put it all back to where it should be, all was OK.
But the slide is still not wired correct at the switch. I called Fleetwood and they told me Prowler is out of business and they have no wiring schematics for the brand. They DID email me a PDF file of a 1995 Prowler Owner Manual, that covers all the various models and features...just no wiring diagrams.
Sorry for long explanation....trying to be specific on problem.
