I see you figured it out also, the screw on attachment is a royal pain. A dually makes it even worse.

🙂 Hi, I bought one of those Harbor Freight compressors many years ago. If you run it without being attached to a tire valve, it will blow up. Well at least mine did. I took it back as defective for a warrantee replacement and was hassled, but they finally gave me a new one. I installed a compressor blow off valve and never had a problem since.
