GEL Coating
Are all fiberglass RV's Gel Coated?? If not what year did they stop using the Gel Coating? Tired of the Gel Cracks.

- Thanks for the replys. So which MH's have the best Gel Coating?
- Non-gel coat sidings are typically called filon, and show fibers. They are hard to match in repairs...the repair looks smooth compared to the siding. Gel coat does not typically crack....but I suspect that there is a quality difference amongst gel coats...some thicker than others.
- I dont think the vast majority of fiberglass RV's have cracks. Mine doesn't.
- Fiberglass without gelcoat would be very ugly.
- Gel coat is the first material sprayed into the mold for fiberglas parts. Without it you would see all the glass fibers.
