Generator asphyxiates camper

With this being said is there any after market stacks to attach to a Honda 6500 EU genie that could function in a toy hauler?

Sure just like modern cars are so much more unreliable and worse than ones from the 1970s. Lets go back to those too. You can have your carbureted clunker. I want a model designed for me, something embracing technology from the last ten or twenty years.

I have a class-C generator in the rear. I permanently mounted my Gen-Turi on the rear of the MH. Just so I don't get lazy. Painted it the color of the MH.

I often tell people this happens. It is why the installed Onan Generator in my motor home runs with a Gen-Turi if I'm running it more than an hour or so (2 hours limit) and I've had my CO detector set off by ANOTHER motor home's Generator as well.

Still.. As I said. I have people tellling me "It does not happen"

Are campers growing weaker with each generation? Just imaging our ancestors pioneering this country and not being able to sleep in the winters and summers without heat and A/C.

To expound on this, What is needed is a dual chamber detector that will detect CO and smoke

I suggest you read all the info and make your decision on this but I replaced the ones in my Class C with this one.They are rated for 7 years
and most are only rated for 5,If your RV is older than 5 years old and they haven't been changed they are most likely no good. Mine needed to be replaced so this was a good deal for me.

Just a reminder,a first line of defense is always the best. Check those Smoke/CO detectors and replace them if needed,all have a date on them and how long they are good for. If they don't, toss them.

While it is important to know all of your emergency exits it is also
important to be warned early,especially if you are older or have mobility issues or have small children.

I hope that this helps,It is better to be safe than sorry and it is a small price to pay for security and peace of mind.

Here in Texas, I do understand the need to run a generator at night sometimes, mainly because some nights don't cool off until 2-3 in the morning.

I am pretty sure a Gen-Turi is the fix for this. I wish Onan would make (or "bless") a model, because as it stands now, the generator stacks can void the warranty.

The issue with Onan no approving anything is they don't want to assume the liability associated with something out of their control. The have zero control over the design/installation beyond saying a conditional NO. Note that is says "CAN" and not "WILL".

That being said, has anybody has an issue with a genturi or other exhaust extension? You will likely hear a resounding "NO".
