Generator security: LowPro LockDown

Well, I just ordered this- but I'm interested in people's thoughts of the LowPro LockDown generator security system. I'm going to get a base for the truck and then a second base for the back of the camper. This will let me travel/store the generator in the back of the truck but move the generator to the rear of the camper when it's in use.

Any thoughts on the product?

Should not take me more than a minute to remove it without the key.

In another thread we were talking about Bicycle locks for Generator security and I said I could likely remove one in a minute or less. Turns out it was LESS, Lots less

I use a Kryptonyte cable lock on my Ladder (the ladder is detachable) and lost the key, took me about 30 seconds to cut it off.. Yup, high security lock and all, Sliced it off like hot butter.

I really like that lock but $200 is more than I would want to pay. A .45 Auto round is only about 25 cents.

  • I like it and would probably buy one for my Champion 3400 if they made one.
  • Worth every penny, I say. Not everyone has a good press break and welders, so the $200 for it isn't bad.
  • We had 2 of them.
They worked great. Well worth the money IMO.
You won't be sorry you purchased them.

High priced, but it looks to be a very well thought out product.:C
  • I just use a bike lock when it's outside and I am using it. Traveling, I put it the basement or under the truck tonneau cover. If they want it badly enough they're g6to get it anyway.
  • Overpriced. My SIL welded up a frame of 1 inch angle and flst bar. This I bolted to the bed of the truck. It fit the generator perfectly. Strap fit over the top andmwas secured with to locks. Neat, simple, cheap.
