I have never put anything but soapy water down the sink. I put every thing else down into the black tank. Anyone drain canned food juice into the sink? Wonder if I am taking it to far.

When I cook anything greasy I wipe out the pan with a paper towel to remove the majority of the grease before I wash it. When I fry anything (which is almost never) I pour the waste cooking oil into a refuse container and again wipe out any greasy film with a paper towel before I wash the utensil. My RV's former owner fried a lot and I know first hand the trouble careless grease and oil disposal can cause!

Use it like your sink at home with no garbage disposal. No Grease and as little food as possible. Small amounts will wash out. I always keep the grey water closed and flush it open it at the 3/4 full point.

If you are one to hook up the sewer hose and leave your gray water valve open all the time you'll be able to see the greasy sludge left behind when you peek in that sewer hose. That same sludge would be in the bottom of your tank. Gray tanks can smell worse than black.

Absolutely no food stuffs or grease down an RV sink. This is NOT your stick and bricks kitchen sink with a grease trap and sewer lines that go somewhere else!

Also pick up one of these for your sink.

A garbage disposal is for garbage that goes in the sink.

"canned food juice" should be just fine. It's basically just water..For us, the real no-no is grease...

I use the sinks and other "equipment" just like at home. When I drain tanks I drain Blacks, Kitchen Gray and master bath gray. Dirtiest to cleanest to flush the stinky hose.

Dilution is the solution......

I think you're taking it too far. The black tank is for you know what and the gray is for everything else. But they are both just tanks and they go to the same place. All the gray does is flush the hose after I empty the black.

We have three
Black
Galley
Grey

Galley is for the kitchen soapy greasy dish water, caned food juice.

Grey Is Shower and Vanity sink, just clean soapy water.

I drain in the order listed above, and never need to rinse the slinky.
