Yes. Get a SPOT messenger.Spot For about $99 a year, you have the ability to send an SOS message that will send emergency personnel to your GPS location. Runs off satellite. You can get a satellite phone, too, but the Spot messenger will do what you are asking.
When we traveled to Alaska this past summer, I rented a satellite phone, plus had the SPOT messenger. I felt we had it covered. Both worked well.
