hanging pictures on wall

I don't want to put nails in the wall. I have tried velcro tape, doesn't hold for long.
The things I want to hang are not very heavy. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ann

I'd put my money on vinyl wall covering applied to luan plywood with an acrylic adhesive to be the case.

Add in some humidity, the weight of the item, and a good pothole or two while traveling and...........riiiiiiiipppppppp. Had it happen and tear the paper starting at the command strip down to the counter 2' below. I can however say the command strip worked well and did not release from the wallpaper during the process. I tried to obtain material to match from Keystone at the time with no luck. You would have to get the matching paper to repair from the manufacturer of the panels. Keystone could not even obtain the 1" wide seam tape they use over the panel joints to match the 2 yr old wallpaper.

๐Ÿ™‚ Hi, I used Velcro to hold pictures to my mouse fur walls.

I used 3M automotive (gray) two sided tape to attach items to my wooden walls.

I printed 5" X 7" pictures of places that we have been too, sprayed then with clear coat three times, and wall papered them to my bathroom wall.
Bob, a little off topic but, is the pic in your signature of one of the arches on Rt 12, in Red Canyon,on the way to/from Bryce ?

Command strips and tapes work great up until the vinyl wall covering releases and tears. Then you're searching for material to replace that matches, which is almost impossible to obtain. The manufacturers change it often, so if your rig is a few years old good luck.

Command "Velcro"...it isn't Velcro, but, plastic mushrooms that when pressed into another mushroom strip hold extremely tenaciously. Now, put the 3M Command adhesive on their backs and you have one heck of a picture / mirror / clock / indoor/outdoor thermometer base station /...holding kit. You get the idea, and if in doubt of the holding power, just add more. I have all of the above mounted in our motor home and nothing moves or sags, and I've never had anything fall off the wall. Even the stuff I have mounted in the basement has weathered wild temperature swings with no failures. Things that we had mounted in our 5th wheel for 8 years came off cleanly with no indication that we'd ever had anything hanging there.
My 2 cents, your mileage may vary...

Command Strips are the way to go. We use them for various jobs in our trailer. Have had 2 paintings in frames that have stayed on the wall for 5 years travelling 10 000 miles per year. They hold well and will come off as advertised without damage to the wall.

i assume you are talking about picture 'FRAMES'

what we did was print our scenic, grandkids etc. pictures
on 3M 'post it' Photo Paper

sticks to the walls, cabinets, fridge etc..

and we can take them down and put up new ones

NO heavy frames, not as decorative, but nothing to come off the wall in a Sudden stop, hard braking etc..
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Another vote for Command Strips. We've used them to hang up towel hooks and they work great.

Side note, I've also used them when I had the old plaster walls in an apartment, they work great for that too.

If you use stickum, it will mark up/ruin the wall surface. one small hole and those "J" (sorta) shaped hooks will work. easy to "patch" the small hole. nails in wall are better than stickum. those stick and peel (or peel and stick) easy release jobbies also would work.

Command Hooks, been using them for years and years now. Current camper has one hanging on the door handle. I put it there to hold the outside thermometer wireless sensor. That Command Hook has been there over 4 years now, in all kinds of weather and has not come off.

We have several inside the camper we use for different purposes. Put one on each side of the bed to hold a night robe for easy access. They've been holding those robes for 4 years now, even bumping down the road.

Command Hooks are probably your best. If hanging picture frames, use the hook, then add a bit of double sided tape to the back corners of the frame and attach to the wall. This will keep them from flinging off when in transit.
