My wife & I are fulltimers and have noticed something durin the past couple of years. Several trips ago, a truck diver emptied his pee bucket against the side of our rig while we were in a Welcome Center. We noticed it while we were exiting the builkding. My wife did'nt want me to confrom the driver for fear that he might try have road rage further down the road. Well fast forward to today and we have a another situation. We did not realize it until we got to the campground for the night. I went to get the sewer hose from the bed of the truck and it was gone. I always put plastic bags at each end of the hose securred by rubber bands to control odor and leakage...well the bags and bands were there but no hose or connectors. The only time that it could have happened was at luch at a rest area (with a trucker parked next to us). I know that some on the forum must be former truckers so please enlighen me. If I am not going up to speed I always pull to the right to let truckers pass as I understand that they are trying to make a living...so what gives?

The fact it was raining hard and my knees were hurting bad an I would have to walk about 2,000 feet left me no choice

Your aches and pains are completely irrelevant here. They only have to do with you and nobody else. Sounds too much like an excuse. The only relevant thing is if you were blocking the pumps or not. Sounds like you were in the right. (just keep your knees out of the equation to help win your argument.)

Yea, the trucker went right over, pulled the coverings off of the ends of the hoses so they could drip as he carried it away. Face up to it - you forgot to put them away when you were getting ready to leave in the morning. That's why the bags/bands were in the truck waiting for the hoses. We've all been there, done that or something else dumb, at one time or another, we just admit to our mistake like a grown up!

Hmm, you know, my money is on this scenario if I had to bet.

Nice catch!

I don't see the problem there. I'm a member of multiple bulletin boards and sometimes I post about the same topics on more than one of them.

As far as truckers throwing out or emptying bottles of urine, I've seen it happen on several occasions. Never once did it appear that they were aiming it at anyone, but stranger things happen on the road all the time, just read the newspapers.

About the sewer line, I thinks it's a lot more plausible that it wasn't secured and it just flew out.

Years back when we were moving from Iowa back to the West, my parents drove their van ahead of us. My dad drove slow, even when passing (when he had to). We observed a trucker trying to run them off the road. It was very scary. I'll never forget that. Yes, the trucker knew they were there.

I would not be too sure it was a truck driver. I been treated very well by truck drivers. They are generally good people just making a living. I had one help me change my flat tire. I didn't have the right lug nut wrench and he did. He just went and changed the tire for me. It was out in the Nevada desert across from a State Prison. No one else would stop but he did. I was very greatful for his kindness and help!

I used to mow ditches for the county as a summer job in college, we called them gatorade bottles "piss bombs" because they would pressurize a little in the summer sun and then explode when the mower went over them..Nasty stuff, I think anyone caught littering should have to clean up 5 miles of highway, it would be educational.

I realize you have disabilities that caused you to park where you did, but the problem I have had with my RV is once I get into the pumps I can't get out because the beer and ciggerette buyers are parked every which way, so I sit till they come out.

Beside the point....you should not be eating roast beef, salt or mayo!

I regret not photographing the layout so I could post it but I have never seen anyone get so upset about blocking access to pumps when the fact is the pumps were not being blocked.

They were not blocked at the time but someone may need access while you are waiting in line to pay for your mayo. In addition parking next to a building or not in a designated parking spot can be a situation where a Fire Marshall can cite as well.

I hate manuevering in gas stations because someone will not park in designated spots which leaves narrow areas to move around in. Yes it is an inconveince to park in a designated spot but that's what they are designed for.

If you weren't in a marked parking spot, you were in the wrong.

Don't care one way or the other but it is really good internet safety practice NOT to use the same id/email for every place you frequent/sign up for on the internet. And of course it goes without saying for not using the same password.

In the beginning I set up a yahoo account for joining some websites and I DID use the same email for several accounts etc. That email got hacked within one month. Hackers auto blanket search for it and hit all the websites it appears on. Also allows them to see everything you do, purchase, see etc. So now I do use different ones especially if the website looks like it can be vulnerable as some blatantly do.

So IMHO, JMHO I don't think the OP was being devious all.

This happened at a truck stop a few days ago somewhere in G.A. I had roast beef and bread along with salt and pepper in my camper but I didn't have any mayo.
I pulled into a truck stop (I think it was Loves). I was raining hard and it was chilly and nasty out so I parked close to the store to avoid getting wet plus the arthritis in my knees was bothering me, all I needed to do was buy some mayo and hop back in my truck and be on my way. I was way off to the side and left plenty of room for a truck to get to the pumps. Heck there was probably enough room for a truck that was double the width of a normal truck to access the pumps. I was parked about 75 to 100 feet from the door and was about 20 feet from the door when a trucker asked if that was my truck (for a moment I thought he was going to compliment me on my new purchase). I told him it was my truck and he proceeded to tell me that people have gotten into fist fights over things like that and I better move my truck. I knew I was not blocking anything but I asked him what I was doing wrong. I don't remember the exact words but he said move your truck. I am not a professional big rig driver but there is no doubt I would have had enough room to drive a truck up to the pumps( my truck / camper was not anywhere near the pumps).

The fact it was raining hard and my knees were hurting bad an I would have to walk about 2,000 feet left me no choice but to hop back in the truck and drive to a supermarket (I found on my GPS) a couple miles down the road. The road to the supermarket ran parallel to the interstate I was on so it wasn't out of my way. I regret not photographing the layout so I could post it but I have never seen anyone get so upset about blocking access to pumps when the fact is the pumps were not being blocked.

Trucker are not the only ones that pee in bottles......don't really see anything wrong with it, probably should dump them in the grass like the dogs do though.....although I do see some people let there dogs just******everywhere and that is a lot worse than a little human urine on the parking lot.

I can't believe that pissing in a bottle and dumping it on the ground or throwing it out the window is OK. I also heard the vans full of Undocumented Aliens do the same thing as they can't stop to let them go.

That said the roads would be a safer and a healthier place if they would pay truckers by the hour instead of by the mile. Then you would probably see truckers at rest areas and picking up trash and sprucing up the place, OR NOT!
