Hoarding

After we came home from our first winter snowbirding we took out enough 'stuff' to fill four large rubbermaid tubs. Never missed any of it in the following years.

I'm a minimalist. My wife ain't. Guess who wins that battle.

When we switched from our 23' Hybrid to a 26' TT I brought every thing inside, and weighed it 750lbs. Then piled it all in the back room on the sofa. DW comes home from work and ask "Where'd all that stuff in the back room come from"!! Told her the trailer and she said no way, till she went out and looked at it.

Sitting here looking at seven moving boxes of stuff, plastic storage bins, towing parts, and piles of clothes. Lots of stuff in the outside shed as well. The wife will be amazed at how much stuff was lost in "the move" if she ever really needs the "just in case" junk.

Well, to hijack the thread slightly, but still on topic...

Yes, it's amazing all the "stuff" we accumulate. About 3 years ago we sold our Springdale and got the Outback. We unloaded everything and put it in the garage, took the trailer to the dealer for the trade, then drove home with the new one, and then SELECTIVELY chose what went back in the new camper. (believe it or not ... in the new camper ... after 3 years, we sill have some empty shelves! Before we did that, I took photos of all the "stuff" packed in that camper:

Once a year, usually after snowbirding, we take everything out and go through it. It is amazing what we accumulate over a year's time.

It's a good thing we had 9,000 lbs of CCC but I've been told that it's cheaper than a divorce.

I laugh when some people think they only put in 200-500 lbs of stuff!

Obviously, you guys have never seen real hoarding. We have a large 3-car garage, a storage shed, plus a rental storage garage. Now, if I were to empty out our motorhome (for whatever reason), I would have no place to put any of the stuff. That's right, every square foot of storage space, everywhere, is stuffed with STUFF!
I will probably die of this incurable decease. But, I probably will not be able to RIP....:B

Sounds like we all should mark each item before we go "camping" and remove the tag when used. Then remove things that are not used. You will be suprised how little you can get away with.
