Hometown...

Last month issue of TL had a great article on Fort Donelson National Battlefield and Land Between the Lakes National Recreational Area located in the town where I currently live.
Received the December issue today and it has my hometown of Walla Walla, Washington in a feature article. I am happy to be a part of both areas....
  • I like the store, church service, both of these give you something to do while there. Its very handy to walk up to the store for things.
There are also activities from time to time.
I like the way they keep the gate, feel a little safer.
I like the size of it, big but not to big. Gives plenty of bike riding over the campground.
I'm sure there are other things, river, trees, but its just a place we feel comfortable.

We try and make it to Piney 3 or 4 times a year.
    Maybe my favorite campground.
I'm about 75 miles south of you.

What do you like about Piney? Why do you think it's better than say Canal?
  • I'm about 40 miles south of Dover, go to LBL often. I don't often camp there, since it's such a short drive for me. Lots of good photo opps in LBL and Ft. Donelson. I really enjoy going there.

Ever have the feeling you're being followed?... :E
  • Land Between The Lakes use to be great, and probably still is. I haven't been there in decades. Lots of Developers were moving in on the outside edges.
I enjoyed the Buffalo that were behind the fence. Rubbed the noses of many of the young. the ones roaming around outside don't care if you're a car or not on the roads. Need a boat with a big tank, to cover both the lakes and all that water and fish.
I'm easy pleased. Some big fields, old stuff and old homes, and quiet and animals, as long as they ain't licking my mirrors and wheels and pooping on my feet.
