๐Ÿ˜ž I can't believe how many topics that have been closed recently! :S Is it so difficult for people to refrain from making rude and unwanted comments.
It makes me feel as though it's not worth clicking on to certain threads now!
This used to be filled with helpful outstanding people when I first joined. Come on people let's keep it respectful and clean before it becomes another that goes by the wayside! :C Irover

You folks are mostly correct. Once in a while I WILL close a topic or delete it with no explanation, probably it doesn't rate one. Most times I will explain. I try to be reasonable.

A certain segment of the population seems to think they must dictate terms, rates and conditions to the rest of us. Some even tried to get a union started here, for Pete's sake !!!!! That really fried me ๐Ÿ˜ฎ and I just plain Will not tolerate that attitude. As April said....move on.

If you stay with me long enough, you will see how I work... behave, be respectful and DO NOT DICTATE TO ME.....

Yes, I am short but only on one end.... ๐Ÿ™‚

Back on topic, seems like a lot of threads get closed because some posters can't go by "live and let live" philosophy. If a park is offering a job that pays space only, but when you do the math it works out that the RVer is only getting "paid" $2/hr, some want to come in and save the RVer from himself.

While I personally would not take that offer, if someone else wants it for whatever reason, who am I to protest?

How do you know how short a moderator is?

Looking at page one of the Workamping Forums section, I see that three of the five "closed" threads were on the same subject (two of those were of the "demanding an explanation for closure" type).

The explanation was given by the (very patient and polite) Moderator, by the way...

Two others were postings for positions- one was closed because it had been filled, and the other because folks took issue with the terms offered.

All those closures seem reasonable to me....I'd add that if anyone thinks they can do a better job of managing this disorderly passel of roughnecks, let them volunteer to do so!

Thankfully still lots of pleasant, helpful folks here. I just figure if a thread is closed there was some reason for it, and if that's the case, it contributes to the forum. I say this knowing that some times threads get closed without obvious reasons, but mods are human too. No complaints here. I get a lot of benefit for the cost! ๐Ÿ™‚

I tend to agree with you, as on a few occasions, I have gotten carried away in the heat of the moment.

Remember though, some threads are closed for other reasons, some of which we will never understand. In most cases the moderators don't say why. They do on other RV related forums. Not that they "owe" us an explanation, but it sure would clear things up.
