Hopkins Insight Brake Controller

Does anyone have any experience with the Hopkins Insight Brake controller?

This would provide a solution for me on my New 14 Chrysler Town and Country because this vehicle has knee airbags. I am not sure that a Traditional brake controller would work. Maybe there is a removable option to put the controller on the dash while towing?

Anyway, the insight will allow for a cleaner install and keep the brake controller from being tossed through my or my spouses legs if we are...heaven forbid... a frontal impact.

There are a few reviews but not too many compared to the prodigy twins.

Here is a Link

Thanks!

  • Thanks Bryan, I really like that option. I forgot about DirectLink.

  • Have you seen the DirecLink Controller?

It looks like it won't take much more space on the dash, and it can be stowed whenever you aren't towing. Since it uses the van's CAN network, you don't even need to mount it. You could just place it in a cupholder. Since it directly measure wheel deceleration, it will provide more proportional braking than an accelerometer-based controller.
