guess we are just lucky. The last time I recall listening to a loud genny was a few years ago when we were camped at a national park campground and the owner did pay attention to quiet hours time.
as to using them all day....the only time we use ours all day is when it is hot and we need the a/c.
but we have some solar panels on top, so they take care of phone charging and tv and even a little crock pot.
